Lise Alschuler, ND, eMBA, FABNO is the President & CEO of Sonoran University of Health. She is Professor at Sonoran University and retains her rank as a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Arizona where she was previously the Associate Director of the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Brown University. Dr. Alschuler completed her naturopathic medical training at Bastyr University where she also completed her residency in general naturopathic medicine. She is board certified in naturopathic oncology. She completed an executive Masters of Business in 2023. She is co-author of Definitive Guide to Cancer, now in its 3rd edition, and Definitive Guide to Thriving After Cancer. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys early morning walks with her two dogs, relaxing outdoor evenings with her spouse, honing her golf game, and cultivating a deeper sense of purpose and authenticity.

Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller, MD, FACOG, ABOIM, NCMP is a physician, author, wife, and mother who is board certified in both OB-Gyn and Integrative Medicine. Her personal, family, and professional experiences motivated her to explore integrative approaches to healing and wellness. As a result, she completed a fellowship with the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, as well as certifications in herbal medicine, Ayurveda, and meditation. She is certified as a nature and forest therapy guide and as a menopause practitioner by the North American Menopause Society.
She is the award-winning author of The Outdoor Adventurer’s Guide to Forest Bathing , and A Friend Like John, Understanding Autism . She is also the founder and creator of Trail Rx, a program providing parks and trail systems with mental and physical health prescriptions for their users. She speaks internationally about integrative medicine and nature therapy.
Suzanne has served as medical director of the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, lead physician for Chopra Whole Health, and is currently Chief Medical Advisor for AllTrails. She practices at Honor Health Integrative Medicine in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Apple Bodemer is a Professor of Dermatology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After finishing her Dermatology residency, she completed a n Integrative Medicine fellowship through the University of Arizona. She was the first Dermatologist to be Board Certified in Integrative Medicine and currently serves on the American Board of Integrative Medicine. She is also Board Certified in Lifestyle Medicine. Additionally, she is a founding faculty of the Integrative Dermatology Certificate Program – an intensive program for Bord Certified Dermatologists – and serves as core faculty for the Integrative Skin Health Series and the Integrative Esthetician Certificate Program through LearnSkin . She has authored several c hapters on Integrative Dermatology in the p rimary Integrative Medicine textbook and written curriculum for the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine Fellowship program as well as for the National Veterans Association Whole Health Initiative.
She is committed to prevention and believes that the best way to impact health is to empower people to take their health into their own hands. Delia Chiaramonte, MD, MS is the founder and CEO of the Integrative Palliative Institute and host of The Integrative Palliative Podcast. She is Board certified in Family Medicine and Palliative Medicine and certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine. She is an experienced clinician and medical educator and is the former Associate Director and Director of Education of the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Center for Integrative Medicine and the former Division Chief of Integrative and Palliative Medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center/Gilchrist. Dr. Chiaramonte earned a master’s degree in Palliative Care from the University of Maryland and is on the program faculty. She has published several textbook chapters, lectures frequently to medical audiences, and offers CME programs to physicians and other clinicians on the topic of integrative symptom management. Dr. Chiaramonte has won multiple teaching awards and was voted a “Top Doc” in Baltimore by her physician peers in 2019-2022. She is currently writing a book titled Coping Courageously: A Heart-Centered Guide for Navigating a Loved One’s Illness (without losing yourself).

Ann Marie Chiasson, MD, MPH , is the Director of Education and the Fellowship at the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine and an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Arizona. She is board certified in Integrative Medicine, Family Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Chiasson currently serves as the President of the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) and is a past chair of the American Board of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Chiasson graduated with honors from Dalhousie School of Medicine in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of British Columbia. She completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona and a master's in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has practiced Integrative Family Medicine, hospice and palliative care, and addiction Medicine in the United States and Canada. Stimulated by a life-long interest in chronic pain management, mind body medicine and meditation, Dr. Chiasson has studied extensively with indigenous healers in Mexico. Dr. Kirchoff completed her pediatric residency at Oregon Health Sciences University in 1999, and was chief resident in the OHSU Department of Pediatrics from 1999-2000. She spent the first 5 years of her pediatric career practicing general pediatrics in a private practice, where she realized that her true passion was helping children with developmental and behavioral challenges. She then joined a team of developmental pediatricians, speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and neuropsychologists, who collaborated to provide comprehensive care for children with developmental and behavioral challenges. This experience helped shape her collaborative approach to patient care.
Dr. Kirchoff completed The University of Arizona Andrew Weil Fellowship in Integrative Medicine in February 2016. She is passionate about using her knowledge of integrative medicine to improve patient outcomes, and about sharing this knowledge with others .
After working for 10 years in the non-profit medical industry, Dr. Kirchoff realized that increasing productivity and documentation demands were decreasing her ability to provide excellent patient care. She started her own practice in 2016 in Portland, Oregon, with the intention of providing the highest quality care for her patients and their families.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Kirchoff enjoys spending time with her husband and children, hiking, windsurfing, skiing, and reading good books.

Dr. Geeta Maker-Clark MD, ABOIM is a nationally recognized leader, speaker, educator, and advocate in the field of Integrative Medicine. She is the Director of Integrative Nutrition and Advocacy at Endeavor Health, Clinical Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the Culinary Medicine program at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. Geeta has spent two decades studying integrative medicine, nutritional science, botanical medicine, mind-body medicine, and natural childbirth in health clinics all over the world. She started the Food is Power program on the South Side of Chicago in Chicago Public Schools to empower youth with health literacy, through a curriculum that focuses on decolonized food education, food justice and sovereignty. Geeta was recognized as a national leader in food justice activism with a Castanea Fellowship from 2019-2022 and the Michael Pollan Fellowship in Food Journalism in 2021. She has been awarded by the American Nutrition Association, Health and Medicine Policy Research Group, and Integrative Health Symposium as a leader in health justice. She is passionate about sharing knowledge and experience to help communities thrive. Dr. Maker-Clark works with the South Asian domestic violence organization Apna Ghar to teach classes that feature culturally favored foods, and is in partnership with Urban Growers Collective- a Black- and women-led non-profit that cultivates eight urban farms on Chicago’s South Side, having created several food as medicine programs that reach thousands. Vi Thuy Nguyen, MD, FAAP is a Fellow of Environmental Health as part of the American Academy of Pediatrics and serves as Co-Chair of San Diego's AAP Climate Change and Health Committee, Chair of AAP California State Government Affairs Expert Committee on Environmental Health and Climate Change. She is Co-Founder of San Diego Pediatricians for Clean Air, a loose coalition of concerned pediatricians who advocate for pediatric asthmatic patients. She also now serves as Co-Chair of the Public Health Advisory Council for Climate Actions Campaign in San Diego. She originally earned her MD at Harvard Medical School and trained in general pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She completed her 5-year-term as Assistant Chief of Pediatrics at Kaiser Permanente San Diego. In her professional life, she managed over 90 outpatient general pediatricians with special oversight on the South County. She was responsible for Pediatric Quality measures with special emphasis on pediatric asthma health and vaccine measures. After a numerically successful but personally grueling time in middle management and experiencing burn-out, Vi has pivoted her extra-curricular physician time to being an advocate for physician wellness and joy and climate work. She is a proud trained Climate Reality Leader and Co-Lead of Kaiser San Diego's Sustainability/Green Team. She actively blogs and Instagrams as an alternate eco-avatar plogger (jogger and beach cleaner) in the Pacific Beach area. She is currently laser focused on decarbonization and building electrification. She was able to successful orchestrate H3SD San Diego's Heat and Human Health Summit.

Kaylie Nguyen, MS has been a Nurse Practitioner in the Pediatric Gastroenterology Division at Stanford Children's Health since 2003. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of CA San Diego and pursued graduate studies at the University of CA San Francisco. She learned the art of fermentation from a young age in her mother's kitchen and now enjoys teaching health care providers how to ferment foods to promote health. She has presented on this topic at the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) Annual Meeting in 2023 and at several Pediatric Integrative Medicine Fellowship Conferences at Stanford. She is a true believer in food as medicine and thus began offering the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) as a therapeutic option for her patients with inflammatory bowel disease in 2005, well before it was popular or published in the medical literature. She was a main driver in the development of the IBD nutrition program at Stanford. She serves on the Medical Advisory board for the non-profit NutritionalTherapyforIBD.org and she continues to publish on and participate in research about the SCD. Her area of focus is on educating and supporting patients and providers on how to apply nutritional therapies safely and sustainably. In her spare time, she enjoys woodworking and tending to an edible garden that fuels her culinary creations.

Akil Palanisamy, MD , is a Harvard-trained physician who practices integrative medicine, blending his conventional medical expertise with holistic approaches including functional medicine and Ayurveda. Dr. Akil attended Harvard University and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in biochemical sciences. He earned an MD from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and completed family medicine residency training at Stanford University. He then graduated from a fellowship in integrative medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona, and received certification in mind-body medicine from the Georgetown University Center.
Dr. Akil is the Department Chair for Integrative Medicine at the Sutter Health Institute for Health and Healing (IHH). He also serves as IHH Physician Director for Community Education and leads their educational initiatives and programs. Dr. Akil has been a consultant with the Medical Board of California for many years.
A widely known speaker and educator, he is the author of The Tiger Protocol: An Integrative, 5-Step Program to Treat and Heal Your Autoimmunity and The Paleovedic Diet: A Complete Program to Burn Fat, Increase Energy, and Reverse Disease. As he has done for two-plus decades, Dr. Akil sees patients and conducts clinical research studies in the San Francisco Bay Area. Satchidananda (Satchin) Panda, PhD is a Professor at the Salk Institute in California, where his research focuses on the circadian regulation of behavior, physiology, and metabolism in model organisms and in humans. Dr. Panda discovered a blue-light sensing cell type in the retina entrains our master circadian clock, affects mood, and regulates the production of the sleep hormone melatonin. Recently, he discovered that maintaining a daily feeding-fasting cycle popularly known as time-restricted feeding (TRF) can prevent and reverse metabolic diseases. Based on a feasibility study in humans, his lab is currently carrying out a smartphone-based study to assess the extent of circadian disruption among adults. Dr. Panda has received the Julie Martin Mid-Career Award in Aging Research, Dana Foundation Award in Brain and Immune System Imaging, and was a Pew Scholar in the Biomedical Sciences.

Upon graduation from my Family Medicine Residency in Tucson Arizona, I completed a 1 year Residential Fellowship as well as the 2 year online Fellowship program through the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, becoming Board Certified in Integrative Medicine through the ABOIM in 2022. I also have completed a certification in Functional Medicine through the IFM and practiced at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine for 2 years in 2019-2021.

Dr. Julian F. Thayer received his Ph.D. from New York University in psychophysiology with a minor in quantitative methods. Dr. Thayer is currently Distinguished University Professor of Psychological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine and the Ohio Eminent Scholar Professor in Health Psychology Emeritus and Academy Professor at The Ohio State University. He has also been a visiting professor at Sapienza University in Rome, the University of Bergen in Norway, and the Free University of Amsterdam, and a Research Fellow in Residence at the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at Carnegie Mellon University. He has published over 450 research papers and is one of the world's leading experts on heart rate variability. Dr. Thayer has received numerous research awards including the Early Career Award for Contributions to Psychosomatic Medicine from the American Psychosomatic Society, and distinguished scientist awards from the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, The Society for Psychophysiological Research, the Society of Behavioral Medicine, the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research, and the American Psychosomatic Society. He is also an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine. From 2020 to 2023 he was identified by the Web of Science as a "Highly Cited Researcher", a designation given to the top 0.1% of researchers.

David Victorson is a clinical psychologist, Professor of Medical Social Sciences, and Director of the Flourishing in Health and Society research lab at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He is Research Associate Director of the Cancer Survivorship Institute at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University, and Co-Founder and Executive Director of the young adult cancer support nonprofit True North Treks. His research focuses on the delivery of bio-behavioral interventions aimed at increasing mindfulness-based emotion regulation, social connection, nature contact, and engagement in positive health behaviors, and their proximal and distal effects on health, wellbeing, quality of life, and flourishing, primarily in cancer survivor and caregiver populations.

Andrew Weil was born in Philadelphia in 1942, received an A.B. degree in biology (botany) from Harvard in 1964 and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1968. After completing a medical internship at Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco, he worked a year with the National Institute of Mental Health, then wrote his first book, The Natural Mind. From 1971-75, as a Fellow of the Institute of Current World Affairs, Dr. Weil traveled widely in North and South America and Africa collecting information on drug use in other cultures, medicinal plants, and alternative methods of treating disease. From 1971-84 he was on the research staff of the Harvard Botanical Museum and conducted investigations of medicinal and psychoactive plants.
Dr. Weil is the founder of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, where he also holds the Lovell-Jones Endowed Chair in Integrative Medicine and is Clinical Professor of Medicine and Professor of Public Health. The Center is the leading effort in the world to develop a comprehensive curriculum in integrative medicine. Graduates serve as directors of integrative medicine programs throughout the United States. Through its Fellowship and Integrative Medicine in Residency curricula, the Center is now training doctors and nurse practitioners around the world.
Dr. Weil is the editorial director of the popular website, Dr. Weil.com (www.drweil.com), and appears in video programs featured on PBS. Fellowship 2014 Summer
Dr. Ann Ming Yeh is a Clinical Professor at Stanford University in Pediatric Gastroenterology and practices at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and Stanford Children's Health. She completed her residency and GI fellowship at Stanford University.
Dr. Yeh's research interests include diet therapies for inflammatory bowel disease, nutrition, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, and integrative medicine for pediatric gastroenterology. She has presented her work on fatty liver, inflammatory bowel disease and integrative medicine at national meetings.
She completed a two-year distance learning fellowship through the University of Arizona's Center for Integrative Medicine where she gained additional expertise in mind-body therapies, botanicals, and nutritional supplements. With skill and compassion, Dr. Yeh treats her patients with a comprehensive, evidence-based, holistic approach. She is also a formally trained and board-certified medical acupuncturist. She is currently the program director for the nation's premier fellowship for Pediatric Integrative Medicine at Stanford.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys yoga, gardening, hiking, and traveling with her family.
