Tamara Rios, Ph.D.
Tamara Rios, Ph.D., was raised in both Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico, and Tucson, Arizona. She is bilingual and bicultural, has a BA and an MS in Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Psychology and Education. She is the owner of Rios Associates, co-author of the Complete Medical Spanish textbook, 4th edition, and has taught medical Spanish and cultural awareness courses since 2000. Tamara has partnered with various hospitals and medical groups across the country for the past 20 years. She has also served as a consultant to several international hospitals and medical groups in Mexico, Spain, and Peru. Her primary focus and passion are to help the underserved Latino community. Through her Medical Spanish and Cultural Awareness Courses she aims to equip healthcare professionals with the tools needed to bridge linguistic and cultural barriers, ensuring quality care to diverse patient populations
